Loop Remote Control ("Loop Remote", "we", "us") is a mobile remote control app for iOS and Android. This policy explains what data the app handles, what our third-party providers process on our behalf, and the choices you have. Loop Remote Control does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, or password.
Summary
- No sign-up, no login, no personal profile.
- Remote-control commands travel over your local Wi-Fi network to your TV. They do not pass through our servers.
- We use a small number of well-known providers (AppStack, Firebase and RevenueCat) to run the app, understand crashes, and process in-app purchases.
- We never sell your data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Information we handle
Because there is no account system, we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information. The categories of data below are processed automatically by the app or our providers:
- Device & app data: device model, operating system version, app version, language, country, and anonymous device identifiers. Used for compatibility, analytics, and crash reports.
- Diagnostics & crash logs: stack traces and non-personal technical context when the app crashes or errors, so we can fix bugs.
- Usage events: aggregated, non-identifying events such as "app opened", "paired with TV", or "subscription screen viewed" to understand which features are used.
- Purchase data: anonymous purchase identifiers, subscription status, and receipts provided by the App Store or Google Play, used to unlock features you paid for and prevent abuse.
- Local network data: the address of your TV on your local network, kept on your device so the app can reconnect.
How we use this information
- Operate core remote-control features and reconnect to your TV.
- Diagnose crashes, performance issues, and bugs.
- Understand which features are useful in aggregate so we can improve the app.
- Process and restore in-app purchases and manage subscriptions.
- Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.
Third-party providers
We rely on the following providers, who act as data processors on our behalf. Each has its own privacy policy that applies to their processing.
- AppStack — mobile SDK toolkit used for app infrastructure, remote configuration, and analytics events. Processes device and usage data.
- Firebase (Google LLC) — used for Crashlytics (crash reporting), Analytics (aggregated usage), and Cloud Messaging (transactional in-app notifications). Firebase may process anonymous device identifiers and diagnostic data.
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscriptions and purchases on iOS and Android. Processes anonymous purchase identifiers, receipts, and subscription state.
- Apple App Store & Google Play — handle the actual payment transaction. We never see your full payment details.
Local network access
To control your TV, Loop Remote Control communicates with it directly over your local Wi-Fi network. Pairing and command traffic stay on your network — the commands you send with the app are not routed through our servers.
What we do not do
- We do not require accounts, emails, or passwords.
- We do not track what you watch on your TV.
- We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
- We do not run third-party advertising SDKs.
Data retention
Data stored on your device (such as saved TVs and preferences) remains until you delete the app or clear its data. Crash and analytics data held by our providers is retained according to their standard retention windows, typically up to 14 months.
Your choices
- iOS: you can limit ad tracking and diagnostic sharing under Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Android: you can reset advertising identifiers and manage app permissions under Settings → Privacy.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR in the EU/UK or CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain user accounts, we usually cannot link data back to a specific person. If you believe we hold data about you and want to exercise your rights, contact us at the address below.
Children
Loop Remote Control is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, they rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, highlight them in the app's release notes.
